    Email Policy

    Norwood Family Practice ensures that communication with patients via electronic means is conducted with appropriate regard to privacy.

    Electronic communication could be intercepted or read by someone other than the intended recipient and it is at your discretion for proceeding with electronic communication.  Norwood Family Practice cannot guarantee that electronic communications will be private.

    Our Practice Policy for sending and receiving email communications with patients is as follows:

    Patient email address will be verified by the Practice before sending an email

    • Patients are able to obtain advice or information related to their care by electronic means, this includes email. All significant electronic contact with patients is recorded in the patient health record
    • Norwood Family Practice have an automatic email response system set up so that whenever an email is received into the Practice, the sender receives an automated message reinforcing information regarding the risks.

    If you agree to receiving and sending emails to Norwood Family Practice please sign the email consent form located at Reception when you next attend the Surgery.

    Test Results

    Patients are advised that it is their responsibility to follow up any investigations undertaken.  Results of routine tests are normally available within two working days.

    When pathology tests are ordered during a consultation your Doctor will advise you if you need to telephone for your results or alternatively make an appointment.

    Your Doctor may also email you when your results arrive back at the Surgery to advise you if you need to make an appointment.

    If you would like a copy of our written policy on receiving and returning electronic communication please ask the Receptionist.

    Patient Feedback & Suggestions

    We are happy to receive all feedback or discuss any concerns you may have regarding the service provided at our Medical Centre. Please feel free to contact our Practice Manager on the above email or speak to your treating doctor to discuss further.

    If you are not satisfied or your complaint cannot be resolved within the Practice, you may wish to contact the Health & Community Services Complaints Commissioner.
